Slow Wi-Fi, cameras dropping offline and a tangle of unlabelled cables usually point to the same problem: a network that grew without a plan. TechService designs and installs PoE and Ethernet switch networks that are sized correctly, documented and easy to maintain.
What Is a PoE Switch and Why Does It Matter?
A PoE (Power over Ethernet) switch sends data and electrical power through a single network cable. IP cameras, Wi-Fi access points, IP phones and access control readers can be installed without a separate power socket at every device. The result is a cleaner installation, fewer failure points and central control: if a camera freezes, it can be restarted remotely from the switch instead of sending someone up a ladder.
Choosing the right switch is about more than port count. The total PoE power budget, PoE standard (802.3af, 802.3at or 802.3bt), uplink speed and whether you need a managed switch with VLANs all affect how reliable the network will be once every device is connected.

Frequently Asked Questions
How many PoE ports do I need?
Count every powered device (cameras, access points, phones) and add 20–30% spare ports for future expansion. We confirm the final number during the site survey.
Managed or unmanaged switch: which one should I choose?
An unmanaged switch is fine for a small home camera system. For offices, larger CCTV systems or any network that needs VLANs, monitoring or remote device restarts, a managed or smart switch is the better choice.
Can you upgrade my existing network instead of replacing everything?
Yes. In many cases we can keep existing cabling and replace only the switches, or add a PoE switch where it is needed. We will tell you honestly what can stay and what needs to change.
Do you offer maintenance after installation?
Yes. We offer annual maintenance contracts (AMC) covering periodic checks, firmware updates and priority support.
